Globe Artichokes

Italy is renowned for producing high-quality globe artichokes. Several varieties of this edible thistle are available, each with unique characteristics, include “Carciofo Romanesco,” “Carciofo Violetto di Provenza,” and “Carciofo Spinoso Sardo.” Different regions of Italy are known for their production; coastal areas with mild climates, such as Sicily, Lazio (home to Rome), Campania, and Puglia in particular.

Globe artichokes have a distinct growing season in Italy, typically from late winter (February/March) to early summer (May/June).
